This year’s Global Security Exchange (GSX) has come and gone. We’re back from New Orleans, after having seen some of the latest developments and trends in security technology.

GSX 2025, hosted by ASIS International, was held from September 20 to October 1 this year. It’s the security industry’s biggest and longest-running trade show, bringing together security professionals from across the security industry. This year’s show included a fantastic ASIS-sponsored event at the National World War II Museum, and the puppy and kitten area, which is a favorite among attendees. We heard that many puppies were adopted this year.

Attendance at this year’s event was a little lighter than in previous years, perhaps because the show was held so late in the year. However, it’s worth noting that we’re still waiting for official numbers from ASIS.

Circadian Risk had a booth at this year’s conference, but we were able to get out a bit and see some of the trends and new developments in the physical security industry.

What are the biggest trends coming out of GSX?

This year’s conference saw a continued interest in AI and robotics as well as an interest in executive protection. Here are some of this year’s biggest themes:

  1. The ASIS school standard: The long-awaited ASIS school security standard was released just before the conference, and was widely discussed at many of the educational sessions this year. We are excited to feature the school security standard in our platform.

  2. AI and analytics: AI continues to be emphasized by many of the exhibitors this year. We saw AI for cameras, AI for access control, AI for threat intelligence, among other applications.

  3. Regional guard companies: There was a time when we’d see just a couple of large guard companies, but this year’s GSX seemed to have several smaller, regional security companies.

  4. Executive protection: This year we saw an emphasis on executive protection. A lot of companies were talking about different risk factors for high profile events or human assets.

  5. Chief Security Officers (CSOs): We saw plenty of individuals who were looking to advance their careers, and become the next CSOs in their organization. Additionally, I think there were quite a few CSOs at GSX this year relative to the previous years.

Miss us at GSX? It’s not too late.

All in all, GSX 2025 was a fantastic event that saw an interest in security and safety from many different kinds of companies of all sizes. GSX 2026 has been announced as being in Atlanta. We’re looking forward to next year, but in the meantime, if you missed us at GSX, please get in touch.
