The Global Security Exchange (GSX 2022) is fast approaching. From September 12-14, leaders in the security sector will meet in Atlanta, Georgia for one of the world’s largest security conventions.

We will be there as well, and we’re happy to announce that Circadian Risk will be presenting two panels this year: The Digital Transformation of Risk Assessments Into Enterprise-Wide Risk Dashboards and Trends in VR - Gamification of Tabletops, Preparedness Exercises, and Trainings.

The Digital Transformation For Risk Assessment Into Enterprise-Wide Risk Dashboards: A Panel Discussion

When: Tuesday, September 13, 3:15 p.m.

Where: B314

Traditionally, security assessments have been conducted using paper checklists. This has never been ideal— assessors often make notes in the margins, handwriting can be difficult to read, and it’s possible to lose or damage paper notes. We believe that it’s time to bring assessments into the modern age by using digital reports that can be made into dynamic, actionable dashboards and shared throughout the enterprise. Such digital tools allow for the inclusion of photographs, floorplans, and other media, and can be used as a way to track remediations.

Our panelists include Jared Wagar from Canadian Pacific Railway, Robb Koops of Clarios, and Nate Pearson of General Mills. They will discuss their organizations’ decisions to move away from paper assessments and embrace digital dashboards, along with insights and lessons learned.

Trends In V.R.: Gamification Of Tabletops, Preparedness Exercises And Training

When: Wednesday, September 14, 9:45 a.m.

Where: B314

Tabletop exercises and drills have always been a foundation of security preparedness, planning and training. They can be disruptive to operations, however, and if some team members are working remotely, it can be difficult to get everyone in one location for an exercise. It’s also possible to manipulate a drill and steer the exercise towards a positive outcome.

Virtual Reality (V.R.) offers an alternative. By duplicating the workplace and creating life-like situations and complications, V.R. allows personnel to experience incidents like active shooters, bomb scares, fires, and other security issues safely and without disrupting business operations. VR and gamification can also allow your team to experience a range of outcomes, from the happy path to the poor outcomes. This panel will discuss these emerging technologies and the savings that participants may realize by using V.R. to gamify training.
